Affirmations for Stress Management
I find that when I am feeling particularly vulnerable and fragile that meditating using an affirmation really comforting. No matter how self-aware, intelligent and unique we consider ourselves to be, it is a fact that we are all highly suggestible. Our choice of consumer goods is largely dictated by marketing people, our world view is influenced by the media and our moods can be manipulated by the comments and attitudes of others – if we allow it. But we can free ourselves from negative influences, harmful mental habits and the effects of long term conditioning by reprogramming our sub-conscious minds with positive suggestions these are affirmations. These can be used as a mantra in meditation to create positive patterns of thought so that we can transform our perception of ourselves and of the outside world.
• Always say your affirmation in the present tense – to talk about it in the future will mean your desire is always waiting to happen.
• Only use positive words.
• Keep your affirmation short and specific.
• Repetition of your affirmation means your desire can sink into every fibre of your being.
• Dedicate your energy to everytime you repeat your affirmation. To parrot your affirmation undermines its power and is a waste of time.
