The world’s largest online therapy and coaching platform has officially appointed a new Chief Executive Officer who has a strong background in public sector management and healthcare innovation.
44-year-old Claus Kaaber has been appointed CEO of www.Mentaline.com. He takes the place of the site’s founder and previous CEO, Jesper Buch, whose resources have been freed in order for him to focus more on his innovative and entrepreneurial expertise.
In his new role, Claus will use his knowledge of the healthcare sector and his experience in public sector management to develop the structure of the business in order to focus on expansion in both domestic and foreign markets and in order to appeal to a wider demographic. The new CEO will also establish strategic partnerships with NGOs for the benefit of the business and will head up the introduction of a risk management system and a CSR strategy.
Claus Kaaber holds a masters degree in Law from the University of Copenhagen, as well as several management diplomas from the likes of Oxford University, INSEAD and Wharton Business School. His history includes roles in public sector top management at both a state level and in municipalities and his role prior to joining Mentaline.com was as deputy permanent secretary at the Danish Ministry of Taxation.
Since 2008, Claus has developed his own consultancy firm, which predominately works with healthcare innovation and has advised municipalities, regions and companies about the commercialisation of public sector innovation needs. At Mentaline.com, his expert skills within healthcare innovation and growth will be used to market the site in the healthcare and government sectors and among large business accounts and insurance companies. He will also form pipeline management within the company in order to continuously have access to new customers.
Mentaline.com is an innovative concept that hat helps clients and professionals in the therapy and coaching industry connect through a revolutionary technological platform. The site enables clients to have sessions via webcam (using Skype) from the comfort of their own home, whilst professionals can register to the site and offer their services via the pioneering platform. Launched in the UK in August 2010, Mentaline.com now has hundreds of professionals offering their services to clients through the site
Claus Kaaber spoke about his new role as CEO at Mentaline.com;
“It is incredibly exciting to now be working with such an innovative company. The idea of Mentaline.com is a great one and I have every confidence that the business will continue to grow and develop. I’d hope that my knowledge of the healthcare sector and the skills I have picked up from my previous management roles will enable me to be a great asset to the company and I very much look forward to being part of such an exciting venture.”
Jesper Buch, founder of Mentaline.com, commented on the appointment of the new CEO;
“I am very happy to welcome Claus to the team here at Mentaline.com. His appointment means I am now able to focus more on product innovation and turn my attention back to my entrepreneurial expertise. I firmly believe that his expertise and experience will be hugely valuable to us and we are looking forward to seeing how his skills will benefit the company once implemented. We can already see the progress being made and are very grateful to have found such a valuable member to add to the team.”
