I offer a number of services including individual counselling and psychotherapy, personal coaching, couple /relationship counselling and parenting support.
The theoretical basis of my training is Psychosynthesis which is a Psychology of Love and Will that sees how what people suffer in the here and now has it's roots in the past, is experienced in the present and blocks them in realising the full potential of their lives.
Some of the everyday experiences that people bring to therapy include anxiety, stress, depression, anger, addiction, relationship struggles, parenting issues, bereavement, loss, divorce and others.
My training as an integrative therapist inludes a variety of approaches and therapeutic interventions including psychodynamic, transpersonal and solution focused.
My commitment to those who contact me is that I will work with them in whatever way that is most appropriate and comfortable for them, the issues they wish to explore and the outcomes they long for.
Alongside specific therapeutic work I also offer people personal coaching, around matters relating to their personal lives, work, career and personal development.
One area of work that is of particular interest for me is Parenting. For a number of years I have worked with parents (individually and in groups) around issues to do with parent/child/teenager relationships.
Another area of particular interest is Addiction. I have worked for some time with individuals suffering and variety of addictions and wrote my MA thesis on 'A Psychosynthesis Approach to Addiction'.
A third area of special interest for me is working with Couples towards renewing and developing their relationship especially those who are experiencing a breakdown in communication which can be linked to pressures associated with work, parenting and a host of other experiences that impact on a couple's relationhip, and, as a result deprive their relationship of the meaningfulness that they long for as a couple.
