I started working in maternal & child welfare in the NHS in 1985 and went on to train as a psychiatric nurse, specialising in psychotherapy. I have worked with and been mentored by many world leaders in top NHS/Priory hospitals for over 26yrs.
I receive 'Excellent' client evaluation and am described as "challenging in a good way", "supportive", "fun","Unorthodox", "My best friend. I tell you things I wouldn't even tell my husband".
I use a mixture of styles, 'extract what is useful', including cognitive therapy, schema therapy, classical psychotherapy, hypnosis, NLP, behavioural, solution-focused, etc.
I was recently employed as nurse therapist providing telephone therapy for depression, abuse, OCD, trauma, anxiety, panic, marital/relationship problems, eating disorders, stress, weight management, etc. and general health including a special interest in malignant melanomas.
I now work privately as a Consultant Therapist & sports hypnotist and work in Hove, East Sussex. I cover Brighton and the surrounding area, eg. Worthing, Lewes, Henfield, Haywards Heath. I have many clients that travel less frequently from London and the Home Counties.
Clients have included the rich & famous, foreign royalty, business people, police force, etc.
I worked on specialist depression & eating disorders units at the Bethlem & Maudsley Hospitals (London) and have subsequently specialised in abuse, smoking cessation and sports hypnosis.
My style is in some ways unothodox, but highly effective. Many clients, including many recent ones have stated I am the best/most effective therapist they have experienced.
On a personal level, I have been a vegetarian for nearly 30yrs, am an animal lover and involved in various animal charities. I practice 'power plates' and Ashtanga yoga and I have used my training and experience to make many changes in my own life.
