I left my post as Training and Development Manager for Ayrshire and Arran Community Health Division in Dec 05 where I was responsible for the Management training and personal development of 3,500 staff and another 7,000 associated staff. I carried a small caseload of psychiatric patients for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and 1-1 work with staff and volunteers. I have an interest in working with mental health issues in the work place and in getting people back to work when there has be absence due to mental health issues.
I am as an independent Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I am involved in with a group of other CBT professionals forming a loose association.
My practice consists of referrals from NHS (Psychiatric and GP), Social Work, EAPs, Insurance companies, Private health insurers, rehab companies and individuals. I run small Employee Assistance Programme for public and Private organisations and participate in their health at work programmes. I have a private a consulting room in Glasgow and also consult in Ayrshire.
I have recently been appointed to the board of Glasgow Council on Alcohol. I am a member of the Panel of Reference for Ayrshire - a group consulted on issues affecting the mental health service users of Ayrshire and Arran and beyond. I am also a member of the Ayrshire Anti Stigma Steering Group and workplace subgroup. I am secretary of BABCP Scotland.
I am interested in both short and long term work with clients including Addictions, Anger Management, Anxiety, Behaviour management, Bereavement, Conflict at work, Depression Eating Disorders, Life Skills Coaching, Management Coaching, OCD, PTSD, Personal Assertiveness, Phobias, Personality Disorders, Relationships at work, Stress etc.
I offer clinical supervision to other CBT practitioners from various professions.

I designed and run my own CBT Diploma (initially validated by Cosca) and CBT Certificate course (Cosca validated).
I deliver the Cosca validated Certificate in Counselling Skills
I was a P/T Lecturer in Counselling Skills at James Watt F.E. College.
I was Year 1 Team leader for a two year P/T Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork - a Cognitive Approach
Various other training/psycho educational courses, e.g. Loss and Bereavement, Stress
I was a trainer for the Living Life to the Full Course at 2 colleges
