Caffeine Intoxication

For some people there's nothing like that first cup of coffee in the morning. The boost of caffeine gives the body extra energy, but it comes at a cost. Caffeine is a stimulant that affects the central nervous system. While there can be an initial rush of energy during caffeine intoxication, the body will dip in the other direction when the initial effects of the caffeine wear off. This - along with building up a tolerance to caffeine - are some of the signs of caffeine addiction.

Signs of Caffeine Intoxication

Here is some more information on the signs of caffeine intoxication.

  • Excitement, restlessness and nervousness are three common signs of caffeine intoxication.
  • Insomnia  - the inability to fall asleep - may be the result of caffeine intoxication.
  • Rambling behavior is exhibited by some who are under the influence of caffeine.
  • A temporary boost of energy is common when using caffeine.

The temporary boost of energy may be nice in the beginning, but as you build up a tolerance and start to become addicted to caffeine, you need more and more of it just to maintain normal energy levels. This can be a huge problem in many ways. There are other dangers of caffeine intoxication as well.

Dangers of Caffeine Intoxication

While the temporary increase in energy may be nice, it comes with side effects you may not want to deal with. From the sleeplessness to the rough "coming down" off of caffeine intoxication, there are many serious health issues to consider before you drink another large coffee twice a day. As the body likes the boost of energy, it begins to crave caffeine, needing more and more in able to function normally. This is when caffeine intoxication can lead to caffeine addiction.

Treatment for Constant Caffeine Intoxication - Addiction

We know the long term health dangers that are associated with caffeine addiction. We also know the power of caffeine intoxication, which is why we have partnered up with professionals that offer online therapy to help with caffeine withdrawal symptoms. In addition, you can find trained therapists to help you with the psychological aspects of your addiction to caffeine. Because there is a strong physical dependence that occurs when your body becomes addicted to caffeine intoxication, it can be difficult to try to quit on your own. Treatment for caffeine addiction is possible, but you need to take the first step.

Definition of Caffeine Intoxication

Caffeine intoxication occurs when the stimulant caffeine effects the central nervous system of the human body, resulting in a temporary increase in alertness and energy levels. This energy is short lived, however, with the body soon requiring more and more caffeine to get the same effects. Because of this caffeine addiction is a serious problem that comes with other complications - like caffeine withdrawal symptoms.
